HOW TO CHECK THE STATUS ON YOUR VSIFAX

You may need to call Point 4 Data Corporation at some time regarding your VsiFax program. It will be helpful to state how you use the program:

a. Do you only use VsiFax for faxing invoices?

b. Do you also have "Fax Answer" (which integrates VsiFax into Genesys)?

Also, before calling, please try to determine what may have caused the recent malfunction. The following steps will help.

1. From the ROOT MENU, select #13 Vsi-Fax Administration

2. From the VSIFX MAIN MENU, select Administration

3. Select Scheduler Admnistration

4. Select Get Status

a. What does it say at the top, left-hand corner? Does it say, "The fax scheduler is running"? Most likely, if you have been having problems, it will say that it is NOT running!

b. What does it say under the STATE heading? Normally, it will say "Idle" or "Running". If it is blank, then you need to exit back to the Scheduler Adminitration Menu and...

5. Select Start/Stop Scheduler

a. Answer "N" to the question, "Stop the scheduler Y/N ?"

6. Again, select Get Status

a. It should not say that the scheduler is running and that the state is either idle or running.

Correcting an A/P invoice not posted to an existing receiver.

1.   Menu 6.1 'Add, Change, or Delete invoices'

2.   Create a Zero value invoice to the correct Vendor (use the Vendor Invoice Number with a dash E to tag it as an Error correction)

3.   End the Entry portion

4.   The Window-Box will pop up. Select the Receiver that should have been used on the Incorrect Posting.

5.   Exit the window. There will be the amount of the Receiver to distribute.

6.   Post the amount to the appropriate Inventory account(s) that was (were) used on the incorrect posting (should be negative). Essentially, you must undo the postings that were created when the invoice was posted without the receiver.

7.   Exit and update the Purchases Journal.

8.   Select menu 6.4  'Selective Disbursements'

9.   Select the Vendor and Invoice to be Paid (this is the zero value invoice that was created above).

10. Pay the Invoice

11. Update the Disbursements Journal.

HOW TO FIX PRINTER PROBLEMS

How to check the status of your VSI-FAX.

You may need to call Point 4 Data Corporation at some time regarding your Vsi-Fax program. It will be helpful to state how you use the program:

1. From the ROOT MENU, select #13 VSI-FAX ADMINISTRATION.

2. From VSI-FAX MAIN MENU, select ADMINISTRATION

3. Select SCHEDULER ADMINISTRATION

4. Select GET STATUS

What does it say at the top left hand corner of the SCHEDULER STATUS box? Does it say "The fax scheduler is running"? Most likely, if you have been having problems, it will say that it is NOT running!

5. Select START/STOP SCHEDULER

Answer "Y" to the question, "START THE SCHEDULER Y/N?"

6. Again , select GET STATUS

It should now say that the scheduler is running and that the state is either idle or running.

7. If the state says "not running", then you need to do the following:

a. Login: vsifax

b. fxstat (this will give you the status. It should say, "Disabled")

c. fxenable fax1

d. fxstat (you have just enabled the fax, so the status should now say "enabled")

NOTE: You may need to start the scheduler or sometimes stop then re-start. If the scheduler is not running you may need to shutdown and re-boot the system.
